ALL TRAILS CLOSED!!!!!

After a series of very poor seasons, this past winter proved to be an excellent riding year. Are we on the upswing of a series of great years again? Will these be the good old days we talk about in the future? Let's hope so.

Summer work session planning is well underway with 100 timbers already cut and drying for summer work projects. Bridge work, brush cutting, and general trail work are all scheduled for this summer. Will you step forward to volunteer? It's as much fun as it is work.

Lastly, where are your photos and riding reports? It only takes a few seconds to hit the email button and send them in.

Your Web Manager....Bob

Question 6
Where can I trailer my sled?

Question 7 What services are offered in the general Waterbury Area?

Question 8 What trails do you maintain?
Q1. Bathroom facilities are available at the Citgo Station on Route 100 in Stowe. The New Jimmz Pizza across from Sunoco has the best bathroom facilities in the entire area with attractive indoor seating. Sunflower Foods at the Route 100 crossing in Waterbury Center offers food and drink.

You can also find an outhouse at WN74 on the Route 2 Trail provided by the Bolton Club, as well as another outhouse in Duxbury at WN58 on the Route 100 Trail. (Now girls, we know how much you love those outhouses...)

Q2. The longest snowmobile suspension bridge in North America crosses the Winooski River in Green Mountain Roamer country. Some 270' long this bridge is located at Junction WN65 on the Route 100 Trail, connecting Waterbury and points north with Duxbury and the Sugarbush Valley.

Q3. TMA'S or Trail Maintenance Assessments, along with club membership providing full access to all snowmobile trails in the State of Vermont, can be purchased at: The Duxbury Country Store & Campground 244 7546, located on Route 100 in Duxbury, Parros Gun Shop on Route 2 in Waterbury, and at Stowe Snowmobile Tours at Umiak Outfitters in the lower village of Stowe next to the Commodores Inn.

Q4. The club typically meets the 2nd Thursday of the month, at the American Legion on Stowe Street in Waterbury, starting at 7pm. Don't be a loner. Everyone is welcome!. Volunteering or just being a part of the club is half the fun of snowmobiling.

Q5. You bet! This winter we plan to host a number of published group rides. Click the "Invitations To Ride" button above to read or post an invitation to ride together. Or just click the "CLUB RIDES" button at the left to find out when the next group ride is planned. Don't be a lone wolf! Bring the family for some great group rides both day an night. Contact the club

Q6. WHERE TO TRAILER YOUR SLED.
FREE PARKING! You can currently trailer your sled to the Little River State Park. Take Route 2 West from Waterbury turning right onto Little River Road. Head towards the State Park, and look for the parking lot on the left side before the dam.

You can also trailer your sled with FREE PARKING at the Duxbury Country Store & Campground on Route 100 in Duxbury. Show them your thanks by purchasing food, fuel, spark plugs, oil, or supplies. Indoor tables, right on the the Rt100 trail. This is a must stop when traveling in that area !

FREE PARKING! You can trailer your sled to the Cotton Brook parking lot in Moscow. Route 100 North, take left on Moscow Road. Continue past Trapp Hill Road and take a left just after crossing the brook. Trail access for Little River Forest, and to the North for Stowe Snowmobile Club trails.

Q7. Gasoline, lodging, food, even guided trail rides in the Little River State Forest are all offered in this area. Just click the "SERVICES" button on the left. NOTE: With many trails now closed through Stowe plan your trip accordingly. See the Trails Page for tips. A good food and fuel stop is the Rt2 Corridor Trail crossing at VT Highway Route 100. Sunoco and Jimmz Pizza (244 7911 open 11Am to 10Pm closed Monday)are just South of the crossing with a very short side trail to Sunoco. Sunflower Foods is also there, but has no bathroom facilities.

Q8. The Roamers are located at the Crossroads of Central Vermont between Stowe, The Sugarbush Valley, Montpelier, and Burlington. Located in the heart of the Green Mountains, we have some of the most enjoyable scenic trails you'll find in Central Vermont. Our Trails connect the miles of excellent riding in the Little River State Forest to the Sugarbush Valley, Middlesex Notch, and Bolton.
